A 27-year-old man has been arrested after a school was broken into before the start of term.
Outwood Academy, in Normanby, Middlesbrough was forced to remain closed the day it was supposed to open after the six weeks holiday.
The school had been broken into and windows smashed.
A 22-year-old man arrested after a report of a burglary at Outwood Academy on the first day of the new term Monday, September 6 was later released with no further police action.
On Monday, September 13 Officers from Eston Neighbourhood Policing Team continued their inquiries and yesterday, Sunday, September 12 they arrested a 27-year-old man on suspicion of burglary other than dwelling.
The man has now been charged and is due to appear at court later this month.
