POLICE have named a man who died following a road traffic collision on the A171 on Thursday (September 9).

Jeffrey Amer, 58, from Nunthorpe sadly died following the incident.

Jeffrey’s family today released the following statement: “Devoted family man, Jeffrey Amer, tragically lost his life on Thursday 9th September. The 58-year-old former steelworker had a passion for motorcycling and the MotoGP.”

The incident occurred at around 6.30pm on the A171, at the junction of West Lane, involving a grey VW Golf and a Suzuki GSXR motorcycle.

Jeffrey, who was riding the motorcycle, sadly suffered fatal injuries. His family are being supported by specialist police officers.

  Police are again asking anyone who may have dashcam footage or information which may assist their investigation to call 101, reference 152698.
