A man had to have dental treatment after he and another man were assaulted after a football match.

A man was attacked by a group of youths after the Middlesbrough vs QPR game back in August.

The assault happened in front of young children, who were left very frightened although thankfully physically unharmed.

At approximately 10pm on Wednesday, August 18, after a home match with QPR, the men (one in his early 50s and one in his late 30s) were on Dockside Road, close to the first burger van and opposite the home supporters’ car park.

They were verbally then physically attacked by a group of young males who were all dressed in dark clothing. The men received checks and treatment by St John ambulance staff and stewards at the scene.

Police are appealing for information and we would also like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time.

Please contact Middlesbrough CID via the 101 number, quoting ref 139436.

Information can also be passed anonymously to independent charity Crimestoppers online at www.crimestoppers-uk.org or by phoning 0800 555 111.
