STAFF at a Middlesbrough care home who worked to keep residents safe during the pandemic have been described as “exceptional” after winning an award.

Roseleigh Care Home scooped the title of ‘Best Care Team’ in the North East regional heat of the 2020 Great British Care Awards.

The home, in Lytton Street, beat off competition from other short-listed care teams to take the award which involved a written entry, followed by a virtual presentation.

The winners were announced at a physical ceremony in Newcastle recently. These awards were held over from 2020 due to the pandemic.

The judges said: “This team is exceptional. They care and support each other to ensure the wellbeing and happiness of the residents. They involve the residents in all aspects of their care planning and their passion and commitment to the residents is reflected in a very low turnover.”

The Care Team Award recognises staff who go above and beyond to ensure residents receive person-centred care.
