THE Met Office have predicted “unsettled conditions” this month with many areas seeing showers and “longer spells of rain”, however warmer conditions are predicted for early next week.

The full long-range forecast provided by the Met Office between September 5 and September 14 shows that confidence is low during this period and showers and longer spells of rain are likely.

Windy and breezy weather has also been predicted and looking at this weekend, the weather is predicted to be “cloudy, with some drizzle,” and strong winds to come on Saturday.

The Met Office said: “Another cloudy start Friday, with some drizzle, but brighter spells later. Little change Saturday, although winds strengthening through the day. Likely staying dry, but windy Sunday. Rather cool throughout.”

The full Met Office long-range forecast reads: “With a region of low pressure residing close to UK at the start of next week, there will most likely be unsettled conditions for many areas, although confidence is low regarding the nature of this regime.

“Showers or longer spells of rain are likely, but some drier and brighter interludes are still expected.

“Rather windy at times, breeziest in the northwest. Further out, some places could see heavy rain at times, particularly in western and northwestern areas, although showers, and potentially thunderstorms, may also affect other areas in a more localised fashion.

“Still, some more settled interludes are expected, most likely in the southeast. Temperatures are likely to fluctuate around average through this interval, but a brief spell of warm conditions giving way to a cooler period remains possible.”

Looking at the forecast for next week, the Met Office have predicted warmer weather with some places seeing as high as 23c this Tuesday.
