POP superstar Olly Murs put on a sensational show at the Darlington Arena last night as he performed in front of thousands of North East fans.
The former X Factor runner-up, who revealed he had never been to Darlington ahead of the gig, belted out some of his biggest hits including Heart Skips a Beat and Dance With Me Tonight.
The singer said: “One thing I love about the region is the people, the people are always up for a gig which is great.
"The people in the North East are very humble and passionate."
The show marked the start of a big weekend for music lovers in Darlington and the arena, with music legend Tom Jones set to perform on the same stage today.
And for those without tickets, a free music festival is taking place in Darlington market square this weekend, with a host of local acts.
