A COMMUNITY fun day is being put on to help a village "bounce back" after lockdown.

The event is being held by the Middleton St George Community Association to help bring people together after lockdown.

Marion Ogle and Louise Sensical, trustees of the association, said: “Lockdown really brought us together as a community and now things are improving we want to celebrate everything that is great about our village.

“Everyone is welcome – we hope people from all over Darlington will come along to enjoy the day, celebrate life after lockdown and see what Middleton St George has to offer.”

The Bouncing Back From Lockdown event takes place on Saturday from 10.30am-2.30pm. The event is free and takes place at the Middleton St George Community Centre in Station Road.

It will feature a host of attractions including dance demonstrations, live music, emergency service vehicles, Darlington Library storytelling, nature adventures, football sessions and model boats.

A tuck shop, pizza, ice cream and raffle will be available.
