A NORTH EAST luxury resort has appointed its first ever wellbeing manager as it introduces new health strategies for visitors.

Peter Bell has been appointed to the role at Rockliffe Hall, and comes with experience practising as a sports therapist for 12 years.

He has previously worked as a fitness coordinator and manager during his 11 years at the hotel.

Three new day retreats will launch in September, designed to achieve "a sense of contentment, invigoration and relief from stress".

Each include four hours of switch-off time in the spa, two course lunch in brand new restaurant Nu Sana alongside focus around a specific wellness area such as Nordic Walking or meditation.

The 'Learn to Nordic Walk Day Retreat' will connect guests with nature in the surroundings of the resort and teaches this walking discipline, known to enhance the natural walking experience.

Guests can relax and connect with their body using Hatha Yoga techniques and meditation with the 'Spa Garden Yoga & Meditation Day Retreat'.

Finally, 'The Mind Recovery Day Retreat' focuses on the mind connecting to the body with the aim of putting you in a complete state of relaxation with a session on the Mind Therapy Spa. 

Each retreat day is priced at £90pp.
