BEDALE food firm Heck is hosting its second Farmer's Market of the summer this weekend after a successful debut event.

The first pop-up market took place at Heck HQ on July 17 and was aimed at supporting local, independent producers in and around the Bedale area.

It was a huge success, with hundreds of visitors going along to browse the stalls, enjoy their free 'Heck-dog' and stock up on food and drink to take home.

The food firm’s factory shop also proved very popular, featuring range best-sellers at discounted prices and special edition flavours.

Thanks to the success of the debut event, a second Farmer's Market will take place this Saturday, August 7, with parking onsite and a free Heck-dog for every visitor.

Heck’s Andrew Keeble said: “We had a great turn-out at our first Farmers’ Market and were blessed with brilliant blue skies and sunshine all day.

“With everything from ice cream to cider, doggie treats, cakes to candles, it was really good to see everyone come together.

"The free Heck-dogs went down well and we’ll be offering the same again this Saturday to everyone who comes along. We’d love to see you there.”

This Saturday’s event will again take place at Heck's base in Lime Lane, Kirklington, from 9am to 1pm, featuring a range of produce stalls.
