TRIBUTES have been paid to a much-loved father who died following a crash in Consett last night.

Kieron Towers was the driver of a Renault Clio when it collided with a Toyota Aygo on Pemberton Road in Allensford.

It happened just after 7pm on Thursday, July 29.

Mr Towers was taken to hospital but sadly passed away a short time later as a result of his injuries.

The family of the 21-year-old from Consett said: “Kieron was a much-loved father, son, grandson, brother and uncle.

“We are all truly devastated about our loss and would ask to be left to grieve in peace.”

Three of the four passengers in the Clio were taken to hospital with injuries.

The driver of the Aygo, a woman in her 60s received serious injuries and remains in hospital.
