A DURHAM bar has been hailed the best in the city by the people who count most - customers.

With pubs and bars back on the agenda and the sounds of summer playing on the nearest jukebox, Liberty Games wanted to shine a light on some of the best pubs and bars in the UK.

They used TripAdvisor's number 1 rated pub or bar in every city and ranked them by the number of 5* reviews to see which topped the charts.

Revolution was the highest rated bar in Durham, with a total of 238 5* reviews.

Customers praised the standard of service and staff.

One review reads: "Went for a bottomless brunch and such a great experience! Amber was the waitress for our table and she was so good! Couldn’t give her any more praise. Brilliant experience, 10/10 would recommend."

Others said the cocktails and food on offer were of a high standard.

Another customer said: "Had a lovely evening at Revolution Durham with my sister for catch-up drinks and food. The pizza and chips we ordered were lovely and the cocktails we had were beautiful too. The service was particularly great from Thomas Barker. I will definitely be going back there."
