THREE people have been arrested following a town centre altercation in Middlesbrough.

Police are making enquiries following reports of an altercation between two men and two women in the Captain Cooks Square/Grange Road area yesterday.

It was reported that a 32-year-old man was driven away in a black vehicle after being assaulted at about 5.25pm.

Officers have moved to reassure residents that the vehicle and four people reported to be involved have been located.

A 30-year-old man and two women, aged 38 and 65, have been arrested on suspicion of causing Section 19 wounding.

Last night they were being held in custody awaiting questioning.
