A PARCEL company has published a list of postcodes where deliveries may be delayed due to "unplanned" absences related to Covid.

Parcelforce has said dozens of postcodes in the North East and North Yorkshire could see their parcels arrive later than scheduled.

Areas across Darlington, Shildon, Newton Aycliffe, Northallerton, Richmond, Bedale and all Teesside postcodes have been affected.

In a statement online, it said: "We are experiencing a high level of unplanned absence in the operation as a result of Covid related absences.

"These issues are particularly acute in some areas of the country where infection rates are at the highest."

The list, which was last updated at lunchtime on Wednesday, July 21, shows a large part of the region is expected to be affected.

These are the affected postcodes in the region

- DL1-11

- TS1-29

- TS90

- YO7

- YO11-18

- YO21-22

- YO62

- HG1-5

The statement apologises for any inconvenience caused as it says it is working to "minimise" delays when they occur.

It adds: "We are working hard to increase resource levels to safely ensure service levels are maintained for our customers and where delays do occur, to minimise them as much as we can.

"We apologise for any inconvenience and would like to thank our customers for their patience."
