NORTH Yorkshire Police have launched an appeal after a man and woman stole and allegedly assaulted staff at Home Bargains in York.

The incident reportedly happened at the Foss Islands Retail Park store between 4.25pm and 4.35pm Thursday July 8.

A staff member complained of being assaulted during the altercation but was uninjured.

Police are appealing for information on the incident from the public to help identify the man and woman involved.

The man has been described as white five-foot and six-inches tall in his mid 20s, slimly built with dark brown hair and facial hair. He was wearing grey and white Adidas tracksuit, a North Face black cap and black trainers.

The woman has been described as white, 5ft3 in height, also mid-20s, with a slim build with ginger hair worn up. She was wearing blue jeans, a grey and black hooded top and black Nike trainers.
