THE following cases were heard at Peterlee and Newton Aycliffe Magistrates’ Courts in the last week.

ELLIOT BRADLEY DOUGAL, 21, intentionally flashed his genitals in Consett, on June 18. The Chaytor Road, Bridgehill resident, indicated a plea of guilt and was fined £384. He was also ordered to pay £38 to fund victim services and £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.

JAMES ANDREW KOVACS, of Beechfield, Newton Aycliffe, assaulted a woman by beating her on July 3. The 20-year-old pleaded guilty and was given a 12-week prison sentence suspended for 12 months. He was ordered to pay £50 compensation.

NATHAN DANIEL BROADBENT, 34, of Ripon Street, Gateshead, assaulted a woman causing actual bodily harm on April 4, 2020 and again on January 24, 2021. He indicated a plea of guilt and was handed a community order requiring him to undergo electronic monitoring.

STEVEN FERGUSON, of Verdun Terrace, West Cornforth, threatened to drive his car into a woman’s house on March 13. The 37-year-old was given a community order requiring him to undergo alcohol abstinence.
