JUBILANT fans throughout the region went wild as England secured their place in the Euro 2020 final.

Goals from Harry Kane and an own goal from Danish centre back Simon Kjaer secured the Three Lions a spot in the final on Sunday.

There were huge celebrations at fan zones and pubs and bars across the North-East after the win.

Supporters were sent into raptures after the penalty decision was given, and the roars were even louder after the England skipper netted the goal despite initially missing the spot kick.

While social distancing rules meant many pubs and venues had far fewer punters than usual, many of those that were showing the game had been fully booked for days.

Many more were cheering England on from their living rooms to witness a moment of history. The result means England have reached their first ever men’s Euros final and first major tournament final since 1966.

The nations eyes will be drawn to the final on Sunday at 8pm as England take on Italy.

Millions are expected to tune in from living rooms, pubs and fan zones throughout the country.
