A BUSY town centre pub will close for deep cleaning after a member of staff tested positive for Covid-19.

The Dickens, in Middlesbrough, made an announcement on social media this evening. 

The pub will be closed on Monday and Tuesday to allow for the premises to undergo a deep clean.

A statement on Facebook said: "Due to members of staff testing positive for coronavirus The Dickens will be closing Monday and Tuesday so the premises can undergo a deep clean.

"Thank you for your understanding and patience as our main priority is the safety of our staff and customers."
