HOUSE builders Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes North East has awarded a grant to a mental health and wellbeing charity.

The £1,000 Community Fund donation follows a report that the estimated prevalence of mental health disorders including anxiety and depression, for those aged 16 and over in Hartlepool, was a staggering 19.3 per cent.

Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes’ said they are keen to support Hartlepool and East Durham Mind in breaking down the stigma around mental health within the community.

Charity chief executive Iain Caldwell said: “Covid-19 has had a large impact on our local community, and as more individuals are reaching out for support, it is crucial that we have the resources in place to help those that need it. This donation will make a large difference in ensuring that our support and services are accessible throughout Hartlepool and East Durham.”
