POLICE have issued an appeal after a motorbike collided with a metal fence.

Officers are appealing for witnesses and CCTV/dash cam footage after a white and blue 125cc pit bike collided into a metal fence.

The collision happened on Monday (June 21) between 3pm and 9pm at Rift House Recreation Ground in Hartlepool.

The 15-year-old male driver of the motorbike suffered serious face and head injuries and was taken to the Royal Victoria Infirmary.

The motorbike has been recovered by the police.

Officers are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision or has CCTV or dash cam footage which could assist the investigation to contact PC Dixon from the Cleveland and Durham Specialist Operations Unit, on the non-emergency number 101, quoting incident number 103066.
