POLICE are appealing for witnesses and information about a number of sheds and storage units that were broken in to at Fisher Green Allotments in Ripon.

Overnight between Friday and Saturday (June 25 and 26), at least 15 sheds and other buildings were damaged and entered.

Not all had items taken, however some did have tools removed.

The suspects also caused considerable damage to windows and doors when breaking in.

A North Yorkshire Police spokesman said: "We are requesting the public’s assistance to help establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

"In particular, we are appealing for information about tools you may have been offered for sale and any witnesses to the incident.

"Anyone with information that could assist the investigation should contact North Yorkshire Police on 101. You can also email James.Skaith@northyorkshire.police.uk."
