ONCE upon a time...in an airport not so far away is a man called Ben Houchen.
Always first in the queue to blow his own trumpet with news of the airport’s progress, he drip feeds it to the public on a daily basis.
But not all news makes the Houchen headlines. Especially if that news dents a man’s mojo.
Some news is best kept top-secret to avoid any detection or scrutiny.
Like the airport car parking charges quietly sneaked through at £2.50 a pop for up to 15 minutes, £5 for the first hour and then £7 an hour thereafter (Echo, June 19).
There is no hiding from the fact that this sudden and unannounced charge will anger many passengers who bought into the Teesside Airport dream that free car park fees would not change.
