A TEENAGER has been arrested in connection with a stabbing in Darlington on Monday.
Police confirmed a 15-year-old boy had been detained and is helping police with their enquiries.
Durham Constabulary said officers were called to reports of a serious assault on Collingsway at around 12.45pm.
A spokeswoman added: "Colleagues from the ambulance service reported a stabbing incident and officers attended the scene.
"The victim, a male in his mid-teens was taken to James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough, suffering from stab wounds.
"It is believed the suspect and victim are known to each other."
A roadblock is currently in place on the A1 Southbound, near Merrybent, as police continue their search.
