THE following cases were heard at Teesside and Cleveland Magistrates Court this week.

CRAIG RAYMOND FORD, 47 of College Road in Middlesbrough was committed to prison for eight weeks suspended for 12 months after he harassed a woman by posting abusive posts on her social media. The defendant pleaded not guilty and was given a restraining order and made to pay £128 to victim services.

MARK ROBINSON, 56 of Butterstone Avenue in Hartlepool was given a community order after harassing a man and woman by throwing dog faeces and litter into their garden, and threatened that same woman. The defendant pleaded not guilty to all charges and was given a restraining order and made to pay £213 to victim services and £1,350 to Crown Prosecution Service.

JOSH JOHN BRUC, 27 of Bishopton Road in Cleveland was given a community order after damaging a someone’s front door to the value of £700 and assaulted a woman by beating her. The defendant pleaded guilty and was made to pay £480 in compensation.

NICOLE READMAN, 31 of Ivy Grove in Hartlepool was discharged conditionally for 18 months after assaulting a police officer. The defendant pleaded guilty and was made to pay £100 in compensation, £22 to victim services and £50 to Crown Prosecution Service.

NATHANIEL WHEATLEY, 14 of Bransdale Road was committed to prison for 36 weeks after sending Facebook messages and text messages to a woman which they were prohibited to do and being found in possession of a class C drug. These offences were committed during a suspended sentence. The defendant pleaded guilty and was made to pay £128 to victim services.

ADRIAN DENNIS NORTH, 28 of Laird Road was fined £680 and disqualified from driving for 14 months after driving a car under the influence of THC, driving without insurance, driving without an MOT and driving under the influence of cocaine. The defendant pleaded guilty and was made to pay £68 to victim services, and £85 to Crown Prosecution Service.

BRANDON CONNOR SMITH, 27 of Redcar Road in Thornaby was given a community order after assaulting a special constable, assaulting a police officer, and used threatening and abusive behaviour. The defendant pleaded guilty and was made to pay £100 in compensation, £95 to victim services and £85 to Crown Prosecution Service.

HABIB RAHMAN, 34 of Pelham Street in Middlesbrough was committed to prison for 16 weeks suspended for 12 months after being caught in possession of a knife in public, a screwdriver, assaulted a man and used threatening and abusive behaviour towards members of the public. The defendant pleaded guilty and was made to pay £100 in compensation.

WAYNE HALLOWAY, 35 of Steele Crescent in South Bank was fined £1,230 and disqualified from driving for three years after being caught behind the wheel under the influence of cocaine, driving without a licence, driving without insurance and driving while already being disqualified from driving. The defendant pleaded guilty and was made to pay £123 to victim services and £85 to Crown Prosecution Service.

TERRY ROGERS, 30 of Rosalyn Street in Darlington was fined £623 and given six points on their licence after failing to give information on the identification of the driver. The defendant pleaded not guilty and was made to pay £62 to victim services and £300 to Crown Prosecution Service.

JAKE MARK LOXLEY, 23 of Myrddin-Baker Road was fined £240 and disqualified from driving for 12 months after being caught driving under the influence of cannabis, driving without insurance, driving without a licence and driving under the influence of cocaine. The defendant pleaded guilty and was made to pay £34 to victim services and £85 to Crown Prosecution Service.

KRIS JAMES ADAMS, 40 of Queen Street in Redcar was fined £120 after dishonestly receiving a stolen laptop and charger to the value of £1,000 from someone, knowing that it was stolen. The defendant pleaded not guilty but was found guilty and was made to pay £34 to victim services and £620 from Crown Prosecution Service.

MICHAEL THOMAS MARSH, 39 of Bruce Avenue in Whinney Banks was given a community order after stealing nine steaks to the value of £47.81 from Lidl and food items to the value of £15 from Sainsburys. These offences were committed during a conditional discharge. The defendant pleaded guilty and was made to pay £15 in compensation and £95 to victim services.

ROBERT WILLIAM WEST, 40 of Dunmail Road in Stockton was fined £120 and disqualified from driving for 12 months after being caught behind the wheel under the influence of cannabis. The defendant pleaded guilty and was made to pay £34 from victim services and £85 to Crown Prosecution Services.
