A COUPLE due to wed next week have expressed their delight at the Government’s easing of restrictions on the industry - but continue to criticise the lack of messaging.
Hannah Stubbs-Ferry and Rob Suggett, from Darlington, said they were relieved to be able to invite more than 30 people to the ceremony after Boris Johnson lifted the restriction on Monday.
The Prime Minister said the current 30-person cap for ceremonies and receptions will finish on June 21, but venues will have to limit numbers and activities based on space.
But the bride-to-be says the lack of clarity has hampered her preparations.
Hannah said: “I’m happy that the cap on numbers has been lifted however there is still very little clear guidance, so we are still unclear as to what that means for our day.
“Because of the limited guidance and confusion, I’m still unsure if I’m able to fulfill it the way I want it to be.
On dancing being banned at the ceremony, Hannah added: “This is a bit disappointing as you see other events going ahead with people hugging and dancing with strangers and we aren’t allowed to do this with our friends and family despite the majority of our guests being vaccinated.”
