POLICE have confirmed the identity of a 25-year-old who was allegedly killed in Thornaby.

Toni Butler sadly died following an alleged incident on Vulcan Way in Thornaby on Thursday (June 10).

Police were called to the house, in Vulcan Way, at 12.41pm on Thursday by ambulance paramedics after a report that a woman had died.

A cordon was erected at the scene and police launched an investigation, with forensics officers seen operating in and around the property.

Police said: "Our thoughts are with Toni’s family and friends at this difficult time and they are receiving support from specially trained officers."

A 28-year-old woman has been charged with murder in connection with the alleged incident and will appear at Teesside Magistrates Court on tomorrow (Monday).

A 15-year-old girl who was arrested at the time taken into custody for questioning has since been released, “with no further action”.

Detectives are appealing to anyone with information which may assist the investigation to call Cleveland Police on 101 quoting 094422.
