POLICE are appealing for information after a 13-year-old boy was assaulted in a park.
The teenager was approached by a man allegedly, who punched him in the face and knocked him unconscious in Preston Park, Eaglescliffe, near to the jetty area by the river.
The incident occurred on Saturday (June 5) between 4.30pm and 5pm.
As a result of the incident, the teenager suffered significant bruising and swelling to his face.
The suspect is described as wearing blue shorts.
Officers are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone who may have captured the incident on their mobile phone to contact Cleveland Police on 101 quoting 091829.
