PLANS submitted to Darlington Borough Council could see 33 industrial units being constructed on an industrial park.

Each unit on the site, which is in Faverdale Industrial Park in Darlington, could be between 500 square feet and 2,000 square feet as well as parking for each of the units.

According to the Design and Access statement, the site is "surrounded by industrial development to the north and east, and immediately to the south is ongoing application for retail use.

"It is not considered that the use of this site for employment purposes will detrimentally impact on the amenity of the area."

There are residential properties towards the west side of the site, however, the statement concludes that "these are a significant distance from the site and benefit from dense planting and trees between them and the site."

The statement argues that as plan does not conflict with any other policies, "this scheme should be granted planning permission without delay."
