AN appeal has been launched after a man was assaulted and left with serious facial injuries.
Police are appealing for witnesses and CCTV footage after a man was assaulted, leaving him with serious facial injuries including two fractured eye sockets and a bleed behind one eye.
The incident happened around 8.25pm on Sunday (June 6) in the alley to the rear of Coronation Street and Queen Street in Carlin How.
The victim, a 28-year-old man, was approached by a man and is believed to have been punched and kicked, leaving him in need of medical treatment.
He was taken to James Cook University Hospital.
Any witnesses or anyone who may have CCTV footage in the area which could assist the police investigation is asked to contact Detective Constable David Alcock from Redcar and Cleveland CID on the non-emergency number 101, quoting incident number 092191.
