A GIN distillery in the region is opening its doors as a visitor centre - and you'll be able to make your own alcoholic tipple.

Masons of Yorkshire, which is based in Leeming Bar, near Northallerton, has revealed when it will reopen with workshops for the public.

It has said guided gin tasting sessions will take place in Masons' gin laboratory, with gin fans taught the tips and techniques needed to create the perfect drink.

Meanwhile, the unique 'Cocktail Experience, led by Masons of Yorkshire's in house mixologists will show how the classics are made.

This will then be followed by a workshop on how to make them, while there will be a chance for fans to get behind the bar to add their individual twist.

Karl Mason, who co-founded the distillery with wife Cathy, said: "We’re looking forward to welcoming visitors from near and far to our home and putting Yorkshire firmly on the foodie map of Britain.

“Yorkshire is known nationally for its outstanding plethora of top food & drink producers, and we want to be part of driving this forward.

"In a county thriving with visitor experiences, it’s a no-brainer that Yorkshire’s first distillery should be on that ‘must visit’ list.”

Bookings are now open with the first session on July 2, 2021. Distillery Experience tickets cost £20.00 per person. Cocktail Experience tickets are £40.00 per person.
