The following cases were heard at Teesside and Cleveland Magistrates court this week.

NICKY GOODENHOUGH, 42 of Herschell Street in Redcar was made to pay £200 in compensation after she stole cash from a charity box to the value of £40 from a Costa Coffee in James Cook University Hospital. The defendant pleaded guilty.

MICHAEL JOHN STREET, 44 of Dufton Road in Middlesbrough was committed to prison for 18 weeks after deleting his internet history, which he was prohibited from doing so by a sexual harm prevention order. The defendant pleaded guilty and was made to pay £128 to victim services and £85 to Crown Prosecution Service.

LEANNE BRADBURN, 41 of Talbot Street in Stockton was given a community order after she stole razors to the value of £45 from Boots, two Bluetooth speakers to the value of £9.99 each, four packs of pringle socks at £9 each, a cordless vacuum to the value of £59.99 a Panasonic shaver at £29.99, a heated brush at £12.99 and an toothbrush of an unknown value from W Boyes and Co Ltd. She also failed to surrender to Teesside Magistrates Court and committed these offences under a suspended sentence and has had her suspended sentence extended to a period of 15 months. The defendant pleaded guilty and was made to pay £95 to victim services and £85 to Crown Prosecution Service.

KIERAN NIKKI LEE LEWIS, 33 of Bridge House Hostel in Stockton was given a community order after stealing four steaks and five razors to the value of £56 from Sainsburys, used threatening and abusive language towards two people, assaulted a paramedic by beating them and stole alcohol to the value of £80 from ASDA. The defendant pleaded guilty and was made to pay £280 in compensation.

RIBAZ NAWZAD, 29 of Ayre Street in Middlesbrough was given a community order and disqualified from driving for three years after he was caught behind a vehicle under the influence of cocaine, was found in possession of cocaine, driving without a licence, being caught in possession of cannabis and being caught in possession of a three inch knife. The defendant pleaded guilty and was made to pay £95 to victim services and £85 to Crown Prosecution Service.

NIGEL WILSON, 59 of Bedale Avenue in Billingham was given a community order after he stole various items to the value of £410 from Sainsburys, assaulted someone and committed these offences while under a conditional discharge. The defendant pleaded guilty and admitted the breach and was made to pay £150 in compensation.

LEE ROBERT STOTT, 38 of no fixed address, was committed to prison for four months after threatening a police officer that he would damage people’s cars and attempting to damage a Ford Transit belonging to Cleveland Police. The reason for imprisonment was due to his previous record. The defendant pleaded guilty and was made to pay £128 to victim services and £45 to Crown Prosecution Service.

JAMIE BYWATER, 30 of Kildare Street was committed to prison for 30 weeks suspended for 18 months after trespassing into someone’s home and stealing household items, failing to surrender to Teesside Magistrates Court, stealing three soundbars to the value of £24 from Poundland, stealing a soundbar to the value of £8 from Poundland, being caught in possession of a class C drug and assaulting three police officers. The defendant pleaded guilty and was made to pay £2,332 in compensation.

TERRENCE ANTHONY SMITH, 58 of Lanehouse Road in Thornaby was given a community order after he assaulted two police constables and threatened a police constable. The defendant pleaded not guilty and was made to pay £200 in compensation and £350 to Crown Prosecution Service.

CHRISTOPHER ARNOLD, 36 of Stainmore Close in Stockton was fined £667 and disqualified from driving for 12 months after being caught behind the wheel under the influence of cocaine, driving without insurance and being caught in the possession of cocaine. The defendant pleaded guilty to most offences and not guilty to driving without insurance and was made to pay £40 to victim services and £85 to Crown Prosecution Service.

STEVEN ANDREW BROWN, 33 of Phoenix Park in Hemlington was committed to prison for 22 weeks after stealing cheese and ham to the value of £56.15 from Tesco, trespassing into someone’s garden shed, being caught in possession of a class B drug, stealing numerous pet items to the value of £120 from Pets at Home, and committed these offences during the period of a suspended sentence.

KYLE BRIGGS, 24 of Hartington Road in Stockton was committed to prison for 16 weeks after stealing a crate of shopping to the value of £75 from Iceland, stealing a basket of shopping to the value of £25 from Iceland, stealing tins of tuna fish to the value of £25.30 from Home Bargains, and with an accomplice stole three pairs of curtains to the value of £124.97 belonging to TJ Hughes. The defendant pleaded guilty to all charges and was made to pay £128 to victim services.
