BEST and final offers are being invited for Thirteen Housing Group’s depot in Middlesbrough Cargo Fleet Lane which went on the market 10 weeks ago.

The five-acre site - which has become surplus to Thirteen’s requirements - is opposite Skippers Lane Industrial Estate, about one mile west of the town centre and close to the A66.

The initial asking price for freehold offers was £675,000 and Stephen Brown, senior partner with commercial property agency Dodds Brown which is handling the sale, said there has been a high level of interest from the moment the depot was made available.

He is asking potential buyers to e-mail their best and final offer to Paul Jenkins – Thirteen’s Executive Director of Assets. Sealed bids should go to Paul.jenkins@thirteengroup.co.uk

The deadline is midday on Thursday 27 May.

Mr Brown said: “We are not surprised at the attention this has received. There is a very strong demand for industrial property which has been largely unaffected by the pandemic and lockdowns.

“Subject to the appropriate planning permission, the size and location means there is real potential for a number of uses.”

The site is broadly rectangular in shape and level. It contains a number of offices, warehouses and workshops and a large car park with around 60 spaces at the front.

t is located in a mixed commercial area which features a wide variety of businesses, including food and non-food retailers, trade warehouses and car showrooms.

Neighbouring occupiers include Lidl, Starbucks, MB Distribution, MKM Building Supplies, Ford, Nissan and Go Interiors.

Thirteen said it is able to vacate the depot quickly once a sale has been completed.
