The following cases were heard at Teesside and Cleveland Magistrates court this week.

CLAIRE BARTHOLOMEW, 36 of Harcourt Street in Cleveland was committed to prison for four months suspended for 18 months after she stole groceries and underwear to the value of £150.03 from Asda, stole items to the value of £395 from Tesco and failed to surrender to Cleveland Magistrates Court. These offences were committed while she was under a community order. The defendant pleaded guilty and was made to pay £128 to victim service and £40 to Crown Prosecution Service.

CRAIG WILLIAM HENDRY, 40 of Letta Street in Middlesbrough was committed to prison for four weeks after placing himself in a public place and begging having been previously convicted for such an offence, being a person living in a tier-four area and left the place where he was living without a reasonable excuse, on another occasion was found begging and used threatening and abusive language. The defendant pleaded guilty and was made to pay £256 to victim services.

SHANE DARREN URWIN, 47 of High Street in Eston was committed to prison for 26 weeks suspended for 18 months after being caught not being at the place where he lives with articles used for theft such as white gloves, screwdriver, claw hammer, an adjustable wrench and wire cutters and was caught in possession of a bladed article, namely a Stanley knife. The defendant pleaded guilty and was made to pay £128 to victim services and £85 to Crown Prosecution Service.

IAN DALEY-BLUNT VYSE, 40 of Sycamore Avenue in Saltburn-by-the-Sea was fined £360 after being caught driving a ford transit that had two wheels fitted with a pneumatic tires with their ply or cord exposed, not all headlamps were in working order, the registration plate was not in working order and driving without due care and attention. The defendant was proved guilty in absence and was made to pay £36 to victim services and £110 of court costs.

GEORGE SNOWDEN, 24 of Edderacres Walk in Wingate was fined £400 and disqualified from driving for 56 days after driving a vehicle at a speed exceeding 70mp on a dual carriageway and driving without insurance. The defendant pleaded guilty and was made to pay £40 to victim services and £110 of court costs.

STEPHAN JAMES DAUMLER, 27 of Walton Court in Stockton was given a community order and disqualified from driving for 6 months after driving without insurance, driving under the influence of THC and cocaine, driving without insurance, obstructing a police constable, and being caught in possession of a class B drug. The defendant pleaded guilty and was made to pay £95 victim services and £85 to Crown Prosecution Service.

PAUL BOND, 37 of Littondale in Hemlington was committed to prison for 10 weeks suspended for 18 months after disclosing a private and sexual photo or video of a woman without their consent intending on causing the individual distress. The defendant was also given a restraining order. The defendant pleaded guilty and was made to pay £128 to victim services and £85 to Crown Prosecution Service.

ANDREW COLIN USHER, 56 of Barbara Mann Court in Hartlepool was committed to prison for 26 weeks suspended for 18 months after communicating with a girl under the age of 16 for the purpose of obtaining sexual gratification, namely using sexual language to attempt to bribe them with alcohol to return to his address. The defendant pleaded not guilty but was found guilty and was made to pay £250 in compensation, £128 to victim services and £600 to Crown Prosecution Service.

MICHAEL ANDREW WELLS, 36 of Brougham Street was committed to prison for six weeks concurrent with sentence of 38 weeks after stealing a pack of razors and two air fresheners to the value of £40 from Tesco, stole chocolate to the value of £22 from Tesco and assaulting a man by beating him, the defendant pleaded guilty and was made to pay £22 in compensation.

DAVID DESMOND CHARD, 40 of South Terrace in Middlesbrough was given a community order after stealing razor blades to the value of £16 from Tesco, detergent to the value of £40 from Sam’s Food Store, attempted to steal various items to the value of £60 from B&M, stole detergent to the value of £60 from B&M, stole bedding to the value of £90 from B&M, stole various goods to the value of £100 from B&M. These offences were committed during a conditional discharge. The defendant pleaded guilty and was made to pay £206 in compensation.
