A 30-YEAR-OLD man has been arrested after he was found in possession of drugs and a sword in Middlesbrough.

The man was stopped on Peel Street, in the Newport area, at around 12.40pm on Wednesday, May 12 and found to be in possession of suspected class A and class C drugs.

The sword was located in his trouser leg, following a search.

The man was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A and C drugs and possession of an offensive weapon.

Cleveland Police say he has been released under investigation, whilst enquiries continue.
