POLICE in Stockton are appealing to trace a man who helped the victim of a robbery on Monday (May 10).

The male victim reported being threatened at knifepoint and property stolen from him by another man.

The robbery took place on Yarm Road, close to the junction with Yarm Lane on Monday evening.

The victim said a member of the public saw what was happening and ran over to the victim’s aid.

Police would like to speak to that man to assist with their enquiries.

The victim has described the man who robbed him as white, in his early 20s, slim build, with short brown hair.

He was wearing a grey ‘The North Face’ tracksuit, black trainers and a blue mask.

He ran off along Yarm Lane in the direction of Stockton town centre.
