UPDATED 9.15AM: North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue say a crew from Selby and one from Snaith attended a fire to an annex of a farmhouse. The fire burnt out the annex and caused smoke damage to the remaining property. The cause of the fire is believed to be an electrical fault on a heater.
FIREFIGHTERS are currently tackling a house fire and have had to close the road outside.
North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Station Manager Tony Walker said that crews from Selby and Snaith are currently dealing with a house fire in the Carlton area near Selby.
He said that Hepworths Lane is closed to traffice and drivers are being asked to avoid the area to allow the crews to do their job in safety.
