NORTH-EAST students will take to the stage in a series of events cementing the work between art organisations in the region.

Northern School of Art students will take to ARC - Stockton Arts Centre's stage to perform the Greek tragedy Antigone by Sophocles.

It comes as the two organisations cement their partnership post-lockdown with a series of events and performances featuring students from the school’s BA (Hons) Acting for Stage and Screen programme.

The Greek play looks at power and the place of the individual within society, with the adaptation drawing links to current ideas around media and democracy.

More students from the BA (Hons) Film, Television and Theatre Production course will also support the performance which will be live streamed from the theatre.

The organisations work together again with the staging of 2021’s InterACT Festival on May 11 and 12, which will also be live streamed.

Meanwhile, socially distanced event Wildfire Road comes to ARC on June 8 and 9 and will see a new work commissioned by ARC and The Northern School of Art presented for the first time.
