THERE have been 64 new Covid cases confirmed in the region in the last day.
Redcar and Cleveland is the only area in the North-East to report no further cases, meanwhile there were nine more in County Durham and five in Darlington.
Nationally, the Government said a further 14 people had died within 28 days of testing positive for Covid-19 as of Sunday, bringing the UK total to 127,538.
Separate figures published by the UK’s statistics agencies show there have been 152,000 deaths registered in the UK where Covid-19 was mentioned on the death certificate.
The Government also said that, as of 9am on Sunday, there had been a further 1,671 lab-confirmed cases in the UK.
It brings the total to 4,420,201.
The government also announced today that 15 million people across the United Kingdom have now received two doses of a Covid vaccine.
