POLICE are appealing for information after a set of new garden furniture was stolen from the home of an elderly couple.
The couple, who live in Heron Drive, Darlington, had not yet built the set of furniture, including a table, chairs and sofa, when it was taken by thieves last weekend.
The alleged theft happened sometime overnight between Friday, April 23 and Saturday, April 24.
Officers in Darlington are investigating the theft and are trying to reunite the furniture with its owners.
They have appealed for further information.
A spokesperson for Durham Police said: "It is believed the suspect removed the Rattan table with four chairs and corner sofa that was waiting to be built.
"Officers are now keen to return the furniture and identify the suspects."
