A DRIVER was arrested on suspicion of drink and drug driving after police were called to reports on an overturned vehicle.

The car overturned on the A167 near Darlington, between Croft and the Blands Corner roundabout, at about 8.30am on Wednesday.

Officers from Durham Police were called to the incident and the driver was arrested, a spokeswoman for Durham Police said.

The driver was uninjured and no other vehicles were involved in the incident.

A spokeswoman for Durham Police said: “We were called to reports of an overturned car on the A167 between Croft and the Blands Corner roundabout, Darlington, at about 8.30am this morning.

“The driver was arrested on suspicion of drink and drug driving.

“No-one was injured, and no other vehicles were involved.

“The road was closed for a short time whilst the vehicle was recovered.”
