SIX people have appeared in court charged with the murder of Tomasz Dembler.

The 39-year-old's body was found and recovered from woodland near to Flatts Lane Country Park in Normanby, Middlesbrough, on Monday, April 12.

Mr Dembler lived in the UK for the last 20 years, most recently in the Middlesbrough area, and before that in Darlington.

He was a father-of-one, with family in Poland and parts of the UK.Detectives have established that he could have been killed at some point from mid-March up until his body was discovered by two members of the public.

The scene was cordoned off for several days to enable a specialist team to carry out forensic investigations.

Five Polish men and one woman, all between the ages of 27 and 44, appeared at Teesside Magistrates Court yesterday.

They are due to appear again at Teesside Crown Court on Tuesday, April 27.

The suspects in the case are: Krysztof Ziolkowski, aged 46, of Spring Bank, Kingston Upon Hull; Martin Chielewski, 27, of Marton Road, Middlesbrough; Adam Czerwinski, aged 44, of Edward St, North Ormesby, Middlesbrough; Rafael Chmielewski, 36, of Birchington Avenue, Middlesbrough; Monika Slawomira Solerska, 36, of Birchington Avenue, Middlesbrough and Tomasz Marek Reczycki, 37, of Ashfield Avenue, Middlesbrough.
