THERE have been 119 further recorded Covid cases in the region since yesterday.
The Government said a further 40 people had died within 28 days of testing positive for Covid-19 as of Friday, bringing the UK total to 127,385.
Separate figures published by the UK’s statistics agencies show there have been 151,000 deaths registered in the UK where Covid-19 was mentioned on the death certificate.
The Government also said that, as of 9am on Thursday, there had been a further 2,678 lab-confirmed cases in the UK. It brings the total to 4,398,431.
A further 19 people died in hospitals in England with a positive Covid test. There were 13 deaths where Covid was mentioned on the death certificate.
No further deaths were reported at hospitals in the North-East and North Yorkshire.
