THE following cases were heard at Teesside and Cleveland Magistrates Court this week.

NATHAN KEVIN JOHN SPENCE, 29 of Sycamore Avenue in Thornaby was given a community order after harassing and threatening someone, assaulting a police constable, assaulting two police officers and resisting arrest. The defendant pleaded guilty and was made to pay £200 in compensation.

LIAM ALISTAIR LEARMAN, 29 of The Green in Redcar was committed to prison for 12 months suspended for 24 months after damaging a Perspex screen and a bottle of gin to the value of £140 from The Pig and Whistle, assaulting a man causing actual bodily harm, threatened someone and assaulted two police constables. The defendant pleaded guilty and was made to pay £630 in compensation, £128 to victim services and £85 to Crown Prosecution Service.

STEPHAN JOHN HOWES, 37 of Kirkwood Drive in Redcar was committed to prison for four months and was disqualified from driving for 29 days after five cases of being caught behind the wheel under the influence of cocaine. The defendant pleaded guilty and was made to pay £128 to victim services and £85 to Crown Prosecution Service.

TONI HARRISON, 31 of Millford Road in Stockton was committed to prison for 20 weeks suspended for 12 months after assaulting and threatening a nurse and two cases of attending an address whilst being prohibited from doing so due to a restraining order. The defendant pleaded guilty and was made to pay £250 in compensation and £40 to Crown Prosecution Service.

RYAN LUKE BLANCHARD, 25 of Eden Road in Middlesbrough was given a community order after damaging a cell, assaulting a police officer, was in charge of a dog which was dangerously out of control and whilst out of control, injured three police officers. The defendant pleaded guilty and was made to pay £250 in compensation.

LUKE PROFFITT, 21 of Barnabus Way in Hendon was committed to prison for 18 weeks and given a restraining order after smashing a window belonging to someone to the value of £200, assaulting two police constables, assaulting a security officer at a hospital, threatened someone, destroyed a body warn video camera to the value of £400 and assaulted a security officer. The defendant pleaded guilty and was made to pay £300 in compensation.

MR PETER ADRIAN WILSON, 32 of Cobden Street was committed to prison for 24 weeks suspended for 24 months after assaulting a police officer, threatening someone, assaulting a police officer, failed to surrender to Cleveland Magistrates Court, failed to comply with a community order, stalked someone and committed these offences whilst under a community order. The defendant pleaded guilty and was made to pay £100 in compensation, £85 to Crown prosecution Service.

ADELE CHANTELLE WORSFOLD, 42 of Whessoe Road in Stockton was committed to prison for 3 months suspended for 12 months after being found in possession of a hockey stick in public, and threatening people. The defendant pleaded guilty and was made to pay £95 to victim services and £85 to Crown Prosecution Service.

DONNA MARIE STOKES, 43 of Windermere Road in Hartlepool was committed to prison for 12 weeks suspended for 12 months after stealing food belonging to McColls, assaulting two people, stealing scratch cards to the value of £15 and being caught in the possession of drugs. The defendant pleaded guilty and was made to pay £115 in compensation and £85 to Crown Prosecution Service.

ANTHONY DAVID COYLE, 33 of Kindersley Street in North Ormesby was committed to prison for 26 weeks after assaulting two police officers. The reason for imprisonment was because of a “deliberate attack on public servants carrying out public duties. The defendant pleaded guilty and was made to pay £100 in compensation, £128 to victim services and £85 to Crown Prosecution Service.
