A DURHAM manor could be changed into a temporary children’s home a planning application to Durham County Council has revealed.

The home, based on Linden Grove in Coxhoe, Durham, could be a short to medium term Children’s Home for a limited period of time to revert back to a dwelling after this period.

Each young person living at the home could have their own bedroom, which they would have a key for, lockable storage, bathrooms and laundry facilities.

There could also be domestic facilities for those living on the premises such as a lounge, a dining area, kitchen, office, two staff sleep-in rooms, private garden to the side of the property and an additional garden to the front of the property.

The children’s home is looking to provide for children and young people aged between 12 and 17, usually from County Durham.

The home could provide care to young people who are unable to stay with their families or who have experienced negative life events for several months or years depending on their care plan.
