Police are looking for these two men after a Metro worker was spat on during a "verbal altercation".

Officers investigating the alleged assault at Walkergate Station, in Newcastle, have released these images of two men they're hoping to speak to.

A Northumbria Police spokesperson said: "At about 4.30pm on March 7, it was reported that a Nexus employee had been assaulted following a disturbance at Walkergate Metro Station.

"It was reported that there was a verbal altercation between the member of staff and two men, which resulted in the employee being spat at.

"An investigation has been launched into the incident and officers have now identified two men that they would like to speak to.

"They were at the station at the time of the assault and could have information that can assist officers with their enquiries."
