OFFICERS investigating an attempted robbery in South Tyneside have released the image of a man they would like to identify.

Shortly before 9.30pm on March 28, officers from Northumbria Police were called to the Lifestyle Express shop on Bede Burn Road, Jarrow.
It was reported that a male had entered the store in possession of a knife and had threatened the shop worker, demanding money from the till.

The offender – a white male who was wearing a mask – then fled empty-handed.
Nobody was injured but the employee was left shaken by the incident.
An investigation was launched into the incident, and as part of their ongoing enquiries, officers have released the image of a man who they would like to identify. He could have information that can assist with the investigation.

The man, or anyone who knows him, is asked to contact Northumbria police via the ‘Tell Us Something’ page of our website or by calling 101 quoting log 1033 280321. Alternatively, you can contact independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
