Rangers did what they had to do in their 2-0 win over Celtic this afternoon.

The Hoops had a plethora of chances to make the tie more interesting after Steven Davis's incredible overhead kick and Jonjoe Kenny's own goal doubled the lead.

But Odsonne Edouard was poor and missed a host of chances on his own which allowed Steven Gerrard's side to hold on.

Davis bagged a stunning opener after just 10 minutes after clever work from Joe Aribo.

It wasn't long before it was 2-0 when Kenny stabbed into his own net after more outstanding work by Aribo down the flank again to get past Diego Laxalt.

Edouard and Moi Elyounoussi missed big for Celts after the break including the former having a penalty kick saved by Allan McGregor and Gers sealed their passage into the next round.

They'll now play St Johnstone in the fifth round.
