Derek McInnes has told Celtic interim boss John Kennedy he "doesn't have a leg to stand on" after claiming the Hoops can, on their day, still be considered the best team in Scotland.
Kennedy watched his side hit Livingston for six and said he felt they were still the country's top team. The caretaker was ridiculed by his rivals across the city as Borna Barisic described the comments as the 'biggest joke he had heard this year.'
Since then, the former Scotland cap has clarified his opinion and admitted Rangers had been the best club over the course of the campaign. But he reiterated his thoughts that Celts have it in them to be the best.
However former Aberdeen manager and Gers midfielder McInnes believes the coach will regret his comments. "He doesn't have a leg to stand on, Rangers have been miles ahead," Del told Premier Sports.
"That will have been spoken about inside the Rangers dressing room and they'll be wanting to shove those words down his throat.
"He'll regret saying it but he's tried to quantify it since then."
