Gordon Strachan has warned that reputations are at stake ahead of this afternoon's "bare knuckle" Old Firm scrap.

The former Celtic manager believes both sides will be desperate to make it through to the next round of the Scottish Cup at Ibrox this afternoon.

But he reckons his ex-employers need the victory more after a dismal season where they surrendered their stranglehold on the Premiership title, got knocked out the Betfred Cup and lost manager Neil Lennon. Celts have been poor at times this season and the Scottish Cup is their final shot at any silverware.

Glasgow Times:

And Strachan is sure John Kennedy's outfit need to win. Do Celtic need this more, the former Scotland boss was asked by Darrell Currie on Premier Sports' coverage. "Yes, definitely," he said.

"There's no sequel to this. A day like today, especially a cup tie, the players, managers, coaches, your reputation is at stake here. For all the talking we do before the game and the rest during the 90 minutes, it's great when it starts. The talking stops and you have to just.. it's a bare knuckle fight, really."
