MORE than 100 new cases of Covid-19 were recorded in the North-East and North Yorkshire today.
The Government also said that, as of 9am on Saturday, there had been a further 2,206 lab-confirmed cases in the UK.
It brings the total to 4,385,938.
The Government said a further 35 people had died within 28 days of testing positive for Covid-19 as of Saturday, bringing the UK total to 127,260.
Separate figures published by the UK’s statistics agencies show there have now been 151,000 deaths registered in the UK where Covid-19 was mentioned on the death certificate.
There were a further 28 deaths at hospitals in England, including four in the North-East.
Deaths were reported at Northumbria Healthcare, South Tees Hospitals, South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust and Newcastle Hospitals.

North Tyneside: 12,440 was 12,436– an increase of 4
North Yorkshire: 29,542 was 29,527– an increase of 15
Northumberland: 17,413 was 17,406 - an increase of 7
Redcar and Cleveland: 9,285 was 9,282– an increase of 3
South Tyneside: 11,310 was 11,306– an increase of 4
Stockton: 15,833 was 15,827– an increase of 6
Sunderland: 22,018 was 22,013– an increase of 5
York: 12,185 was 12,176– an increase of 9
