A NORTHUMBERLAND beer garden with spectacular views has been named among one of the best in the UK.

The Jolly Fisherman in Craster, near Amble, has been recognised for its scenic location and seafood menu.

A list which has been compiled by the UK holiday company, Parkdean resorts, has listed the top six beer gardens as they reopened this week.

It named The White Horse Inn in Dover as number one, while The Jolly Fisherman in Craster came fourth.

A spokesperson for Parkdean said: "While the Jolly Fisherman is known for its famous ‘Craster crabs’, the village of Craster in Northumberland boasts stunning views and cliff-edge coastal walks. Plus, dogs are welcome too.
